I am obsessed with Etsy. Ever heard of it? It’s a website where people can sell their handmade arts & crafts ranging from art, photography, clothing, jewelry, pottery, woodworks, quilts, knick-knacks, and toys. It’s a great place to find one-of-a-kind pieces and I particularly like to peruse it to find inspiration for craft projects that I’ll never finish, and more likely never start.
So I was thrilled when I heard that the Etsy Artists of Indiana group was putting on a craft show here in Brown County, at the Seasons Lodge Conference Center. I am an avid online shopper, but nothing compares to being able to see these unique items in person AND talk to the artists themselves. The coordinator, Shaw Kopp, thought this to be the perfect location for their inaugural event since this is the original “Art Colony of the Mid-west”, and widely known for handcrafted goods.
The show was everything I thought it would be, and did not disappoint. Beautiful designs, creative displays, and enthusiastic artists ready to talk about their products, tips, and new ideas. A line-up of local musicians rounded out the ambiance, performing country, bluegrass and classic rock favorites. The group hopes to continue to grow the show here, and is also considering other show ideas with different seasonal themes.
