Since 1932, Brown County’s iconic Abe Martin Lodge has been tucked away in the beautiful State Park, providing a welcoming and relaxing respite in the woods! Surround yourself in the serenity of the great outdoors, go on an adventure in the park, take a dip in the pool, kick back on the porch, or just curl up by a warm fire in the inn…whatever you decide to do while you’re staying at the Abe Martin Lodge, it’s sure to be a delight!

As you enter the main lobby of the Lodge, you’ll be blown away by the vastness of the wooden walls and grand staircase. Take time to marvel at the craftsmanship of the room and the warm feeling that it evokes. Admire the local wildlife species dotting the walls in true lodge-style fashion. You can even browse through the gift shop for the perfect Brown County memento.

Make your way upstairs and you’ll find multiple lounge areas, great for relaxing alone or for spending some time with family and friends. Gather up the family and check out the TV room, complete with comfy furniture and a large TV. Catch your favorite show or play some board games with the group. There’s also a quiet lounge area upstairs with plenty of seating and a massive fireplace. Warm up by the fire, take a quick afternoon nap, or read a book…no matter what you use the lounge for, it’s a great spot to unwind.

abe 18The Lodge’s onsite restaurant is upstairs too! Open 365 days a year, the Little Gem Restaurant is a go-to for all those good ol’ Hoosier classics. Its quaint charm is sure to provide the perfect atmosphere for enjoying a delicious meal. You’ve got to try the Little Gem’s fried chicken and its fried biscuits and apple butter…signature items its known for! Besides offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as several buffets, the Little Gem also has live music every Saturday night from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. You don’t even have to be staying overnight to dig in at the Little Gem!

As far as rooms go, inside the Lodge you’ll find plenty of inn-style rooms to choose from.   1. I would love to have a get-away. It would be a wonderful thing for my mental health, due to multiple change at work the stress level is very high and this would be wonderful :)

  2. My mom and I would love to have a fun weekend away. My brothers have both moved out of state and won’t be able to be home for the holidays and we won’t be able to travel to them either so we need to make new traditions here.

  3. We have enjoyed some wonderful times at the well maintained state park in Brown County. Its a great place for family time, and the roll of county side is relaxing.

  4. I love Brown County we stayed here on our second wedding anniversary we could really use a night away again weve been married 25 years now.

  7. My husband and I took our very first vacation in Brown County in 1976. We will be celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary in December. What a wonderful way to celebrate by staying at the Lodge. We stayed in a cabin the first time and had a wonderful time. Brown County has always been a favorite place of ours.

  8. Come there 4 times a year. Always rent a rustic cabin. It’s wonderful, clean and cozy. The restaurant serves awesome food with great customer service. I love Brown County!
